THE FOLLOWING REMARKS were given on October 11, by professor Noam Chomsky at the Technology and Culture Forum of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, once one of our most prestigious academic institutions. The remarks were titled "The New War Against Terror" and went on for an hour in a vein of venomous anti-American slander wholly consonant with the paragraph quoted here (audio text also available at zmag.org).
These remarks, it should be noted, were offered exactly one month after the unprovoked terror attack on the World Trade Center by the forces of Islamic fascism and four days after the United States began its response by bombing military targets in Afghanistan. In other words, Professor Chomsky’s self-defined mission was to undermine America’s efforts to defend itself and its innocent inhabitants by sowing dissension and doubt among its younger and more vulnerable citizens about the nature of the barbarian Taliban and its war of terror against civilized people everywhere, especially in these United States.
Professor Chomsky: Well, let’s start with right now. So I’ll talk about the situation in Afghanistan. … Looks like what’s happening is some kind of silent genocide. It indicates that whatever will happen, we don’t know, but plans are being made, and programs implemented on the assumption that they may lead to the deaths of several million people in the next – in the next couple of weeks. [i.e, by October 25]. Very casually, with no comment here [i.e. in the US] .… Well, that’s what’s happening now. What’s happening now is very much under our control.… that we’re in the midst of apparently trying to murder three or four million people…."
What’s happening here – that is in MIT, not Washington – is that what passes for "education" is now under the tutelage of the most prominent of the Sixties anti-American fascists who have taken control of large sectors of our elite universities during the last thirty years and used them to poison the minds of American youth against their own country. This "education" is taking place of course under the sponsorship of "academic" institutions that receive billions of federal dollars and systematically exclude from their faculties people of religion and scholars who are conservative, Republican and patriotic.

Important and related addendum:
On our site at www.FrontPageMagazine.com, we offer a letters forum called "In Your Face," where readers have the privilege of confronting me directly. Many of these letters of late have been from Chomsky believers – a new religious cult popular among acid followers of Rage Against the Machine and spoiled Ivy League preppies whose parents can afford $30,000 a year to expose them to this academic version of Hannibal Lecter.
Sometimes I answer the letters, sometimes I don’t. Today, as I was contemplating Chomsky’s casual slander that the Bush administration on October 11 was coolly calculating the "murder" of three or four million Afghanis (who by Chomsky’s figuring should already be dead), I received the following e-mail (brilliant title and all). It was in response to a 7,000-word article I have written on Chomsky which in the next few days will be distributed as a pamphlet called The Ayatollah of Anti-American Hate on 30 campuses including MIT and Harvard where Chomsky hangs out. There will be 50,000 copies available free to afflicted youngsters looking for ammunition with which to defend their country. I ask every reader of sound and patriotic mind who gets this message to send me $100 or more, or as much or as little as you can, so that I can print several hundred thousand more of these pamphlets to distribute to college students across the country.

Horror wits or Nit wits
Rather than "The Sick Mind of Noam Chomsky" your article could well be renamed "The Sick Mind of David Horowitz"
I'm not a Chomsky follower but based on your article I can't see how the views you attribute to Chomsky (I'm not a reader of his articles - yet) are baseless. You offer no factual argument.
You attack Chomsky ad hominem. Discredit the man not his argument. All this is based on your own theoretical notions of what is or is not true patriotism. You tend to argue that to utter what you attribute to Chomsky is unpatriotic and therefore un-American and therefore wrong. Whereas you are patriotic because you are not un-American and therefore right. You're a goose.
You offer no fact to discredit the statements you attribute to Chomsky.
What you do do however, is put forth assumption as a fact of your argument. We all agree that Osama bin Laden is anti Semetic and anti American. After all we heard it from his own lips. But to say, as point of fact, that he did September 11th [i.e. is responsible for the World Trade Center attack] is an abuse of your position as a journalist and demonstrates a lack of credibility present in your industry.
You don't see yourself as a national leader , just a lynch mob leader (how quaint!) What happened to innocent till proven guilty. Good to se that McCarthyism is alive and well - just when we thought we'd finally burried the bastard!
David your greatest fear appears to be the possiblity of credence to statements attributed to Chomsky.
I believe and have faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ. If his body was found tomorrow my belief and faith would not diminish. I do not confuse the teachings of the teacher with the dogma of the Church.
The American constitution is what offers protection to all Americans from the possible abuse of the system of government in its use against the people. They are not the same and should not be confused.
As a debater you've shot yourself in the foot - the one you've got in your mouth too, but then again you think you're the top gun - don't you?

Horowitz responds:
Dear George:
Maybe you can help me out. I have read your letter (and many like it) very carefully. By the way, I don’t believe you are not a Chomsky clone (I have heard your excuse many times; why not just fess up to what you believe?)
For the life of me, I cannot find even one attempt in your letter to refute the very clear arguments I have made to show that Noam Chomsky is a lying, America-hating, cynical, treasonous snake. Perhaps a crucial lobe in your brain is missing that you should write such a self-indicting post. Perhaps you are indeed mentally crippled and it is horribly insensitive of me to point this out. Perhaps you are just too stupid to understand what I'm saying.
I have written 7,000 words about the pathetic MIT professor. I have gone over specifics, citing facts, texts, you name it. I have shown the mendacity and ignorance that characterize his scenario for the postwar set-up of the Cold War conflict, the Gehlen incident, the Greek Civil War, the Grenada coup, Vietnam and Fidel Castro’s rape of Cuba, along with his key concepts that Lenin was a right-winger and that socialist voodoo planning is dangerous to U.S. imperialism because it offers the threat of a good example that evil Amerikan capitalists have to stamp out. I have even posted a tidbit, for the record, showing that Chomsky will lie about the smallest and most insignificant detail, e.g., his denial that he has ever read anything I ever wrote, when in fact he has quoted me in his own books. This man – to put it as decorously as possible – is human strychnine, and it reflects very badly on our society that he is welcomed – let alone admitted – into decent circles. He has been given a privileged and free life in the most Democratic, tolerant and generous society on the face of this earth, and he has used the freedoms that this country gave him to poison the minds of its young and to make them hate the very source of their blessings.
Unfortunately, through a Hegelian "cunning of reason" (really a perverse historical circumstance), the values of our elite schools have been trashed during the last 30 years, so that Noam Chomsky is today an overpaid, obscenely honored and inexplicably privileged member of our academic culture, a fact that contributes to the confusion of credulous idiots like yourself. This fact of Chomsky’s eminence also tells the rest of us more than we care to know about the atrocities that have resulted from the abolition of scholarly standards at MIT and other once worthy institutions of higher learning. It probably won’t surprise many reading this that a screaming cretin like Julianne Malveaux actually graduated from MIT magna cum laude. (I won't even be so crassly insensitive as to ask whether rigged affirmative action standards or routinely leftwing grade bias was responsible for this particular travesty).
As you can guess, I am not in the best of moods this morning as I write these observations. However I can assure you (and others without your mental deficiencies) that merely by looking at the record they can attest for themselves that this is the gospel truth.
