Frontpage Interview’s guest today is John Ziegler, a former talk show host who is the director of the documentary Blocking 'The Path to 9/11’. He is now working on a new project, HowObamaGotElected.

FP: John Ziegler, welcome to Frontpage Interview.
Ziegler: Thanks. It has been a weird and rather rough time.
FP: Why has it been weird and rough?
Ziegler: Well, when I released the Zogby poll of Obama voters I never anticipated the level of outright hatred and irrationality that would be unleashed on me. I spent most of that week deleting nasty e-mail from my inbox just so I could keep receiving e-mail.
FP: I’d like to talk to you about that poll today.
Let’s start with your forthcoming documentary on the media coverage of the election "Media Malpractice...How Obama Got Elected." You’ve also produced a video of Obama voters on election day being asked simple questions about the election. What’s it all about?
Ziegler: This is a film that I knew several months ago just HAD to get made and that I was the right person and maybe the only person who would and could do it correctly. It will tell the story of how the news media went to unprecedented lengths to help the Obama campaign from the start of the primary season right to the election. As part of that project I interviewed twelve Obama voters on election day and tried to understand how that distorted media coverage impacted what they knew, or thought that they knew about the campaign.
What I found was so incredibly astonishing that I decided to make a web video of the responses and commission a scientific nationwide Zogby poll of Obama voters to see if these results were representative of a broader reality and we found that they absolutely were.
We put the video and polling information at www.HowObamaGotElected.com and it has been a smash hit on the internet with the video getting well over one million views in less than a week.
FP: Why do you consider yourself the right person to do this and perhaps the only person who would and could do it correctly?
Ziegler: I don't mean that as arrogantly as it may seem. When you look at all of the people who have worked in numerous aspects of the media, who were researching this topic all throughout the campaign in anticipation of Obama winning, who have produced a successful media-related documentary already, and who has the passion and resources to do it in a short amount of time, I think you are probably left with just one person who has all of that; me.
FP: In conjunction with the video, you’ve also commissioned a Zogby telephone poll of Obama voters nationwide, which you mentioned in the beginning of our interview. Tell us about the results.
Ziegler: They were amazing and largely ignored by the mainstream media, which of course only further proves the premise of the project. Less than half of Obama voters even knew which party controls Congress! Fewer Obama voters than you would have expected if they simply guessed at the questions knew that it was Obama who made a statement about the coal industry perhaps going bankrupt and energy prices skyrocketing under his polices or that it was Obama who won his first election by getting all of his opponents kicked off the ballot. Just remarkable stuff. So remarkable that the media ignored it because it makes Obama voters look bad, which was not even the intent. We were only trying to show that because Obama voters got their information from different media sources that they were totally ignorant of certain pieces of information.
FP: What reactions have there been to the video and poll? How has the Left digested the realities you exposed?
Ziegler: This has really hit a nerve on both sides. I have received thousands of
e-mails from people thanking me for what I am doing and thousands cursing me. The Left has gone absolutely nuts over this. They have hit me with the all too common charges of racism and tried everything they could to discredit the poll by discrediting me. They have basically gone all "Joe the Plumber" on me. To see my response, click here.
FP: What inspired you to take this latest effort on?
Ziegler: I have been an avid critic of the bias in the media for along time but in this election the floodgates really opened and all sorts of new precedents were set. I strongly believe that if we can't stand up against this type of injustice and force some accountability then we will accept almost anything and it will just continue to happen again and again and will only get worse during the Obama Presidency and reelection campaign.
FP: What realities do you think your forthcoming documentary will expose?
Ziegler: It will show a completely different narrative to the campaign than the one we were fed by most of the media. It will delve into detail on several important episodes that even conservatives probably are unaware of. It is one thing to know or feel something wrong happened and it is an entirely different matter to prove it. I intend to prove it, if only for the historical record.
FP: Why do you think the media is so much infiltrated and dominated by the Left?
Ziegler: There are many reasons for this. I think that those who pursue a career in media are more likely to be "feelers" than "thinkers." I also think that once this "club" was formed that it became very difficult for conservatives to gain entrance, if only because conservatives are thought of as "partisan" or flat out "stupid." You can work for a Democrat for many years and be a news anchor or a show host with no problem. If you ever thought about working with or for Republicans you are considered tainted.
I think it should be noted that I believe that ideological bias was only one of the reasons why the media was so in the tank for Obama. I think there were economic and ratings reasons, as well as a tendency towards reverse racism that also led to this.
FP: John Ziegler, thank you for joining us.
Ziegler: Thanks so much. I hope people will check out www.howobamagotelected.com and see our video that has gotten over 1.5 million views on You Tube. I also hope they will get on our mailing list there to get more information on the forthcoming documentary "Media Malpractice... How Obama Got Elected."
